Our Story

It began in a small town called Sathyamangalam.

I grew up around sarees.

In Sathyamangalam, they were part of ordinary life. They appeared at temples, family gatherings, weddings and festivals, but they also belonged to quieter days.

Over time, I began noticing the details—the fall of a fabric, the balance of colour, the finish of a border and the difference between a piece that merely looked attractive and one that felt right when worn.

After moving to the city, I realised that what I missed was not a particular label or price point. It was the ease of finding textiles that felt well chosen, honestly described and worth bringing home.

During a season of stepping away from full-time work to raise my young son, I returned to this familiar world with greater attention.

I began speaking with manufacturers and textile suppliers, looking more closely at fibres, looms, yarns, borders, finishes and the many different ways in which a saree comes into being.

The more I learnt, the clearer the idea became.

I did not want to build a brand around exaggerated claims or an overwhelming catalogue. I wanted to create a place where the selection felt personal and the information felt dependable.

That became Vanamalika Weaves.

Today, we work with trusted manufacturers and textile suppliers and choose our collections in considered batches.

Some pieces are handloom. Some are powerloom. Some are rich and traditional. Some are light, simple and intended to be worn often. Some belong to celebrations, while others may become part of a woman's everyday life.

Sarees remain at the heart of Vanamalika. Alongside them, we offer a limited range of unstitched salwar materials selected for comfort and wearability.

What connects the collection is not a single fabric, loom or price range.

It is the care with which each piece is chosen and the honesty with which it is presented.

Vanamalika is not about having everything.

It is about choosing carefully, describing clearly and helping each woman find something that feels right for her.

Handpicked Heritage—that is the heart of Vanamalika Weaves.

Why Vanamalika?

Vanamalika evokes a garland of forest flowers.

A garland is formed one flower at a time. Each flower has its own colour and character, yet every one is chosen to belong to something larger.

That idea reflects the way we want to build Vanamalika Weaves—one thoughtfully selected piece at a time.

Vanamalika is a name I have chosen in gratitude to Krishna—Vanamali—who has blessed me with this journey, and to whom I offer this work as a mark of thanks.

The word Weaves gives the brand room to embrace cottons, silks, blends, sarees and other Indian textiles without suggesting that every product belongs to only one fibre or weaving method.

Different pieces. Thoughtfully brought together.

Our Vision

To become a trusted and distinctive home for Indian sarees—where thoughtful selection, honest information and personal service matter more than endless choice.

We envision Vanamalika Weaves as a brand women return to because they feel confident about what they are choosing and comfortable with how they are guided.

Our Mission

To work with trusted manufacturers and textile suppliers, choose products in manageable batches, present every piece accurately and help women find textiles that suit their lives, occasions and comfortable price ranges.

We aim to grow through trust, repeat customers and genuine recommendations rather than pressure, exaggerated claims or short-lived trends.

What Guides Us

Honesty Before Hype

We would rather use a careful description than a stronger claim we cannot support.

Selection Before Scale

A smaller collection of well-considered pieces is more meaningful than an overwhelming catalogue.

Respect for Every Weave

Handloom and powerloom have different strengths, purposes and price points. We present each for what it is.

Real Products, Faithfully Shown

The product received should match the photographs and information used to make the decision.

Growth with Purpose

We will add products and categories only when they genuinely serve the customer and fit the identity of Vanamalika Weaves.
